Barton Grange Hotel is licensed for civil wedding ceremonies and if you wish to marry at our hotel, there are a couple of things you’ll need to organise. This is one of the few tasks we can’t undertake on your behalf.
Firstly, you’ll need to contact the Ceremonies Officer on:
This is to make sure that a Superintendent Registrar will be available to attend on your chosen day.
You will also need to give notice of your intention to marry to the Superintendent Registrar of the district(s) in which you live. This notice must be given by both Bride and Groom at least 15 days before the wedding and is valid for twelve months.
Civil partnership ceremonies and renewal of vows ceremonies can also be arranged by contacting the Ceremonies Officer at the above address.
Only a civil, non-religious ceremony can be permitted by the Superintendent Registrar, so any music, reading, words or performance in the ceremony must
be secular. The content of the ceremony must be agreed in advance with the Superintendent Registrar.
Please note, an attendance fee is payable direct to the Superintendent Registrar and must be paid in advance.
